About the Website
Organization and ease-of-use were top priorities for the new church website. St. John’s needed a site that would be able to provide valuable information to parishioners without being too complicated to navigate. They add recordings of their services to their website so it was important for them to easily be able to add content without assistance. In regard to design, a clean, bright look was needed, but with a design that still felt respectable and appropriate for the church.
St. John’s Lutheran Website Before
The goal of the refresh was to provide an easy-to-use WordPress website that had streamlined navigation and a light, clean look. They wanted to be able to change and update the site often and without website developers or advanced skills needed.
As part of the St. John’s website redesign, a completely new and customized WordPress website was created. Gone is the heavy black background and double-layer of menus that made navigation confusing. These have been replaced with a lighter, cleaner look and menu setup. The number of main menu items was reduced, helping with mobile navigation and enhancing the ability of users to navigate the information.
Plugins were added for additional ease-of-use features as well as SEO optimization. Security protocol was added to prevent malicious activity and mobile-responsive design helps improve organic Google site ranking. The WordPress framework and customized user dashboard make it easy for anyone managing the church’s website to make additions or changes with only basic tech skills.
